Who We Are
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
For those users 13 and over, Klikaklu collects the following information: username, password, e-mail address, avatar image, and the images, descriptive data, and geolocation associated with uploaded hunts and hunt plays. If you sign in through Facebook, we collect your Facebook ID. Likewise with Twitter. We also optionally request players' real names and email addresses on behalf of hunt creators, who are furnished with this information for their own purposes. Providing this information is voluntary.
For those users under the age of 13, we only allow the playing of hunts, and disallow the collection of real names, an email address, or avatar image. If granted parental consent (described below), we may gather images children create during play (as either image match overrides, or images created to prove completion of a task), and may confirm their proximity to a clue's location.
In accordance with federal law, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), we require a verifiable method of consent from a child's parent in order to potentially collect images or verify location proximity. This is done during the purchase process of a hunt.
Consent is provided using one of the following options:
- The purchaser acknowledges they are the child's parent or guardian, and grants consent.
- The purchaser acknowledges they are an agent acting on the parent or guardian's behalf (such as a school), and grants consent.
- The purchaser acknowledges they will gather and maintain signed waivers from the parent or guardian granting consent.
Alternatively, consent may be explicitly denied during a purchase by ticking the checkbox presented.
If consent is explicitly denied, or the hunt being played has not been purchased, children under the age of 13 may still play, but location verification will be disabled, and images gathered will only be stored on the child's device, not uploaded to Klikaklu. If a hunt's host requires these images, they must request them from the child.
To learn more about COPPA, you may reference this simple one-page informational guide from the kidSAFE Seal Program: www.kidsafeseal.com/knowaboutcoppa.html.
Information Automatically Collected in the App
For those users 13 and over, we collect usage information and information about your device. This information allows us to understand how users access and utilize the mobile application. Once a user has downloaded and started using Klikaklu, we automatically collect information such as the model, manufacturer and OS version of device used, device identifiers, and time-stamped logs of messages sent and received including sender and recipient and data exchanges], and network status (WiFi, etc.). We use all of this information to investigate trends and to restructure and improve the Klikaklu application. We also detect when users take actions relating to messages as further described below. To collect much of this information we use Flurry Analytics.
For those users under the age of 13, Klikaklu does not track app usage. Flurry analytics is disabled by default. If Klikaklu provides the functionality to enable Flurry analytics for under-13 users, we will take steps to enable the restricted version of Flurry. .
